"When I decided to sell off most of my collection a few years ago, I started going through and comparing similar guitars. I had amassed a decent collection of vintage Martins and Gibson acoustics. I knew that I had always gravitated towards my d2h when I was looking for that Martin recording tone. When I sat down with my vintage Brazilian D21 (and other acoustics),  and compared them to my d2h and listened to how they recorded, there was none of my acoustics that came close to the Collings. It’s an absolute cannon. I decided to sell all of my bigger Martins and just keep my d2h. After the sale, I came across an amazing pre war D28. I compared this guitar to the d2h and the 2 are very similar. They sound incredibly similar and there are things about each guitar that I love.  I decided to sell the d2h, only because of the collectibility of the D28.

The only reason why he is selling it is because he recently acquired a pre-war Martin D-28, which this is actually strikingly similar sounding to.
