Cosmetic Condition: This guitar is in good condition. It has expected wear for it's age. The hardware is nicely tarnished. There is finish checking throughout the entire guitar. The headstock binding has two cracks in it, but the binding is secure. There is a Chet Atkins signature on the lower bout of the body by the bigsby. There are minor scratches on the back of the body.
Modifications/Repairs: The bigsby and end strap button have been replaced with a later Gretsch Branded bigsby. The nut has been replaced. The fingerboard has been removed and replaced. It has repro longhorn inlays that an earlier (1955) 6120 would have had. The neck binding was also replaced. A bone nut has been installed.
Serial Number: 18568
Tech Notes: This guitar plays well with optimal neck relief and low string action. The frets are tall and wide with minimal play wear. The fingerboard inlays look like the inlays that this model would have had in 1955. These are not original however and the serial number on this guitar suggests that it was made in 1956.
